1905

Several villas and hotels were constructed along the promenade

1910

Theodor Abraham, owner of several hotels and restaurants in Warnemünde, commissioned the construction of a new hotel on Strandweg.

1911 – 1915

The hotel is built. Out of sympathy for the former royal family, the hotel is given the name “Hohenzollern”. Hotelier Heinrich Reinke acts as managing director.

1918

According to the address book, Heinrich Reinke bought the hotel from the entrepreneur Theodor Abraham.

1923

After aircraft manufacturer Ernst Heinkel founded the Ernst Heinkel aircraft factory in Warnemünde and Marienehe in the 1920s, he bought the Hohenzollern House and used it as the exclusive residence for his works council members and senior engineers.

1939

Ernst Heinkel had the house completely reconstructed inside and out.

1945

After the Russian army took power, all of Heinkel’s property was expropriated. The House of Hohenzollern became public property and served as accommodation for Soviet officers.

1946

On July 1st, the building will be converted into a “technical office for wind power plants”.

1954

After the founding of the GDR, the house was expropriated and transferred to the government property of the GDR. A connection to the Hohenzollen royal family did not fit with the political goals of the GDR and was no longer desired. The house was renamed “Haus Stolteraa” after the nearby Stolteraa coast.

1960

Haus Stolteraa becomes the address for leading politicians from the GDR, the Eastern Bloc and international guests from all over the world. The guests include: Walter Ulbricht, Wilhelm Pieck, Janos Kadar, Dr. Beitz, Björn Engholm, Anke Fuchs, Karsten Voigt, Klaus Wedemeier, Walter Giller, Nadja Tiller, Michael Scholochow, Theo Adam, Peter Schreier, Hans-Georg Stengel, Ehm Welk, Erwin Geschonek and many more.

1998

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, a doctor from Rostock bought the traditional house and renovated it.

2005

After extensive reconstruction and modernization, the building is being reopened as the “Hotel Stolteraa”. It is a popular address among German and foreign tourists. In cooperation with the Kurhotel Sanddorn, 150m away, tourist events and health treatments can be booked.

2024
